Here’s a quick look at how I made this RnB beat, including some mixing and sound design. This beat started out with a chord progression I wrote on the Nord 2X. Usually when writing a new idea I try to stick to the following approach to keep from getting stuck.

Here’s a quick look at how I made this future funk beat. I’m really into chopping up guitar parts for inspiration at the moment and this beat started with some Telecaster notes which I sliced and then built a slow funk groove around.

Here’s a quick look at how I made this Electro Funk beat. I wanted to try a beat that was a cross between funk pioneers P-Funk, and some modern groups Chromeo and Oliver and came up with this.

Here’s a quick look at how I made this Police influenced beat. I’m a big fan of Andy Summers’ guitar playing with the Police and I thought it would be fun to try an idea that started on the guitar and was inspired by some of his sound.

Here’s a quick look at how I made this Future Disco beat. I was going for a kind of fusion of Good Faith era Madeon with some Nile Rogers and Daft Punk Random Access Memories influences.
